Simone Biles

Simone Biles was an American gymnast who was born on March 14, 1997 in Ohio, Columbus. She is considered to be one of the greatest gymnasts. Biles was the very first American female gymnast in history to have won four gold medals at a single Games. In Rio de Janeiro, she also became the first woman to have won consecutive World All-Around titles. Biles grew up in Spring Texas in the Houston metropolitan area following the time her and her sister Adria were adopted by their parents Ronald and Nellie Biles. Simone started to develop an interest in gymnastics when she was a six-year-old on a field trip to school at Bannon Gymnastix. Aimee Borman was her coach for the next eleven years. Biles took home a medal for vault as well as a gold medal on the floor at the 2010 Women's Junior Olympic National Championships. The year 2011 saw her begin playing in elite levels of the sport. In just two short years, she became the most successful athlete in her discipline. What stood Biles apart was the consistency of her exuberant personality as well as the level of effort she put into her workout routines for all four events--vault uneven bars balance beam and floor exercises.
