Sofia Pernas was born in Morocco. She came to California at age five. Her family lived mainly within Orange County. In the year 2015, she graduated from University of California San Diego and made her debut in acting. Pernas appeared in minor roles on NCIS and Leverage however she was able to land the part as Marisa on The Young and the Restless. After leaving soap opera in the year 2016, she landed the role of a regular in Jane the Virgin as Catalina. The actress speaks four languages. She's since been seen as Catalina in The Brave with Hannah Rivera as well as The Green Ghost and Secret Society of Second Born Royals. Between 2019 and 2020 Pernas was portrayed by Lexi Vaziri as part of Blood & Treasure.
