If the object is alive or perishable like fruits and people and other objects, they are transformed into paintings of themselves. Alexa's style of painting has an ephemeral quality, the only thing that remains of Alexa Meade's art is her photographs. Techniques of photography and painting are tightly coordinated, resulting in a flat, two-dimensional area that is trompe l'oeil. Only certain parts of the image such as the hair, or eyes, show the third dimension. Sometimes, Meade integrates her painted models into the 3D space around them, allowing them to interact within the self-created universe. This eliminates the distinctions between painting, photography and installation.
